Course duration: Video course plus virtual or physical coaching
Sensory, emotional and cognitive processing of information in the brain needs to be effective and integrated for optimum academic, sport and cultural performance. Stress influences the brain in such a way that the brain will “downshift” due to blood that flows to the genetic strongest parts in the brain. “Downshifting” can result in information blockages. Information blocks will prevent effective studying, planning, speed reading, memory, concentration, interpretation of information, communication, purposeful summary ability and even sport abilities.
During this course the learner will receive all the tools to prevent “downshifting” and information blockages. This means that the learner will receive the ability and skill to approach his/her work and studies with whole brain functioning and chemical balance in the brain.
This is our most popular programme and equips learners with practical behavioural tools to enhance their academic and sport performance.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course the learners will be able to:
- increase their average mark between 3% to 30%. This is the average for all subjects. Some learners even improved their marks in specific subjects with 40%;
- improve the ability to study effectively;
- build new positive neural paths for effective brain functioning;
- improve the ability to concentrate in class and during studying;
- reduce and manage the impact of stress on studying and writing exams;
- pinpoint important facts and make purposeful, effective summaries;
- plan with focussed outcomes;
- set purpose driven goals;
- change thought, attitude and behaviour;
- use behavioural tools to enhance concentration, reading and memory;.
- enhance sport performance and achievements.
Focus
- Practical implementation of whole brain studying.
Who Should Attend This Course
- High School Learners, Gr. 8 – 12 and tertiary students.
BE SHARP – SENIOR PRIMARY
© DARE trading cc
Course duration: 1 hour – Individual evaluation session + 10 hour workshop
Parents and children’s way of thinking and managing stress differ. When the parent wants to help the child with homework and test or exam preparation, stress and conflict often arise. This frustration grows when the child can’t implement the parent’s learning method.
Conflict and tension also arise when parents are faced with the fact that discipline does not always work the same for each child of the family. The parent needs to deal with each child’s uniqueness to guide rather than break the child’s spirit.
What about all the technological information overload of parent and child? There are so many dangers that accompany new technology and it has become a minefield for parents to navigate.
Through the Be Sharp program, DARE teaches parents to embrace each child’s unique thought and stress patterns, thus resolving conflict easily. The course enables the parent, through behavioural tools to support the child’s learning and brain development.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course the parent will be able to:
- implement the knowledge and insight attained through the course regarding the differences in thinking and stress functioning between parent and child which will benefit studying, communication, discipline and parenting;
- support the child during studying and homework sessions without conflict;
- implement behavioural tools which will:
- establish effective study habits;
- ensure concentration and whole brain, creative, quick studying;
- establish emotional intelligence and stability for effective studying;
- change attitude and negative brain processing;
- reduce and manage the impact of stress on information processing;
- manage conflict.
Focus
- Develop new neural paths for effective concentration, studying, reading, listening, writing, emotional stability and memory.
- Other focus areas are stress, maths, discipline and creativity.
- Reduce and manage stress during communication, parenting and studying to create harmony.
Who Should Attend This Course
- Grade 4 – 7, with a parent. No more than 15 families (learner and parent) per course.
CLEVER KIDS – JUNIOR PRIMARY
© DARE trading cc
Course duration: 1 hour individual evaluation session + 9 hour course
Sensory, emotional and cognitive processing of information in the brain needs to be effective and integrated for optimum performance. Stress influences the brain in such a way that the brain “downshifts” due to blood that flows to the genetic strongest parts in the brain. “Downshifting” can result in information blockages. Information blocks prevent high academic and sport performance and influence positive neural development.
Another issue is that conflict and tension arise when parents are faced with the fact that discipline does not always work the same for each child of the family. The parent needs to deal with each child’s uniqueness to guide rather than break the child’s spirit.
What about all the technological information overload of parent and child? There are so many dangers that accompany new technology and it has become a minefield for parents to navigate.
During the CLEVER KIDS course the parent receives all the behavioural tools to prevent “downshifting” and information blockages. The learner therefore can approach school work with whole brain functioning and chemical balance in the brain. Behavioural tools equip the parent to purposefully address and improve discipline, stress functioning, academic and sport performance.
This is a fun filled workshop for the parent and the foundation phase child.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course the parents will be able to:
- implement the knowledge and insight attained through the course regarding the differences in thinking and stress functioning between parent and child which will benefit studying, communication, discipline and parenting;
- use the knowledge and insight of the differences in thinking and stress functioning between parent and child to:
- ensure understanding in communication;
- manage conflict;
- establish discipline with positive outcomes;
- create positive experiences when doing homework;
- understand and celebrate differences in completion of tasks;
- create an effective parenting style for each child in the family.
- use behavioural tools to reduce stress and enhance whole brain functioning, concentration, reading, writing, memory, emotional intelligence and stability.
Focus
- Establish optimal emotional and cognitive brain development of the child.
- Ensure a healthy, integrated whole brain study ability in school.
- Implement behavioural tools to reduce stress, enhance neural functioning, stimulate emotional stability and establish effective communication and discipline.

DARE 4 EXCELLENCE FOR EDUCATORS
© DARE trading cc
Course duration: 4 hours course + individual coaching sessions every month X 12 months. Every 6 months a 2 hour feedback and restructuring session.
Teachers are often extremely stressed due to an overload of work. This stress the teacher carries can create a stressful learning environment and impact concentration negatively. Stress can also adversely affect discipline which can cause conflict. The difference in mind set and stress functioning of each child in a class makes effective teaching extremely difficult. The teacher’s complaint is often that learners do not hear or listen when they speak.
The DARE 4 excellence program helps teachers to minimize the impact of stress on the learning environment and on themselves. The training during the program helps the teacher to effectively compact information to accommodate the unique functioning of each learner in the class. Stress, learning difficulties, poor performance, disharmony, conflict and miscommunication, are addressed during the coaching process.
Coaching results in teachers being motivated and purposeful. Coaching inspires an innovative, focussed, productive application and implementation of teaching as well as a new holistic approach to healthy living and functioning.
A follow-up workshop for teachers is offered after a few months of implementation of the DARE 4 excellence program for feedback, improvement and strengthening of the process in the school.

THOUGHT AND STRESS INFLUENCE EDUCATION
© DARE trading cc
Course duration: 4-5 hours course + 10 min individual evaluation session with each educator.
Discipline and a teaching strategy that ensures that every learner in the class really listens, learns and are motivated to implement learning content, is surely every educator’s need. Stress takes its toll when the teacher is overloaded with admin work and can’t focus on lesson presentations and preparation. Differences between learners’ thinking preferences and stress functioning, which make each learner unique in his / her own way of processing information, can be a great challenge for a meaningful classroom presentation. Conflict and miscommunication in class or between teachers can contribute to the teacher’s increased stress levels.
During the THOUGHT AND STRESS INFLUENCE EDUCATION workshop, each teacher is evaluated. The interpretation session gives each teacher insight in his / her thinking preferences, stress functioning and sensory learning ability. Each teacher learns how stress impacts brain functioning and how to reduce this negative impact of stress, in class. The knowledge of thinking preferences, stress functioning and sensory processing is used as a basis for understanding the difference in thinking, listening, learning, concentration and stress functioning of the learners in class. With this knowledge, teachers can:
- ensure discipline;
- address each learner’s unique learning process;
- implement educational strategies that stimulate whole brain learning;
- prevent conflict and miscommunication.

- develop leadership skills;
- use direct communication to prevent conflict;
- tolerate and diminish negativity towards those who differ from him/her in thinking and stress functioning;
- determine which factors inhibit motivation and productivity and change it;
- create collaboration.
With the feedback on each staff member’s thinking preferences, stress functioning, temperament, and processing of information in the brain, the Principal and leadership team will be able to:
- determine and change factors that inhibit the productivity and motivation of staff;
- establish job satisfaction of staff;

CAREER GUIDANCE (Gr 8 – 12)
© DARE trading cc
Duration: 2 hours – individual session. 1 hour evaluation plus 1 hour interpretation.
Do you know which profession is the right one for you? Is your career choice the correct one? So many times people just hate their work. What if instead of feeling stuck and working to pay bills, you found a truly fulfilling career? Through purposeful career guidance, you can find the right direction to start your exciting journey.
The evaluation by DARE determines thinking preferences. The thinking preference of a learner is a clear indicator of the job description or field of study in which the learner will function optimally and effectively.
